International events are returning to Sitges again, as confirmed by the hotels and venues that are associate members of the Sitges Convention Bureau. Corporate events from European companies, mainly from France, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK, but also from farther away destinations including Iran or India, and two international events from different countries around the world will be coming together in Sitges.

Along the same lines, the Sitges Convention Bureau has once again commenced its international promotion at in-person events including The Meeting Space in Copenhagen together with Babette Braun from Dolce Sitges, where 22 meetings are held with professional organizers from the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia. It is also attending M&I Forums in Sibenik with Mireia Llopis from ME Sitges Terramar, 40 face-to-face meetings over 3 days, with MICE professionals from different European countries.

The 54^th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia kicks off on October 7^th, this year exceeding participation estimates and once again even more international than ever, with guests from the USA, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, France, etc. For the seventh year in a row, the Filmarket Hub platform and the Sitges Film Festival are joining forces to organize Sitges Pitchbox, their international pitching event focused on horror, science fiction or fantastic feature films and series currently in development. An initiative designed to discover the best genre projects and connect them with leading industry companies. And the Festival won’t be overlooking technology; Sitges Cocoon is the event specializing in new technological tools applied to film production and there will be presentations of completed audiovisual projects that bring together technology, genre and fantasy.  In addition, and in a spirit of protest, the Festival will be presenting WomanInFan, a program for the visibility and inclusion of women creators in fantastic filmmaking.

The Women’s World Chess Championship kicked off on September 26^th and until October 3^rd, brings to Sitges 40 women players from 12 national teams representing Poland, the CFR Team (which groups together Russian players), Kazakhstan, India, Spain, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Germany, France and a group of players from the Americas under the name of FIDE America.

The fourth edition of the Estrella Damm Ladies Open, a Ladies European Tour competition, will be held from October 1^st to the 3^rd at the Terramar Golf Club and will bring together the best women golfers from the circuit of 26 different nationalities, 31 of whom already have victories in the Ladies European Tour and 36 who have won titles in the LET Access Series, the continental promotion circuit.
