Who said post-vacation syndrome? The blue of Sitges fends off sadness and apathy; the sea breeze vaporises anxiety, irritability and stress; and confirmed groups combat melancholy and difficulties concentrating. Swimming and strolling at the end of the day helps to lower exhaustion and fatigue. And there’s nothing like a beautiful moonlight dance for sleep disorders.
But while many of us set up our out-of-office messages, at Sitges we have kept working. The destination continues to add new features, new spaces, a higher capacity and new additions to its MICE offerings.
Meliá Sitges has completed the first phase of its hotel renovation with a restyling of its standard rooms and iconic spaces like the lounge, atrium and Gastrobar Safrón. More light, more comfort and an updated image for one of the main destination congress hotels.
Sabàtic Sitges, Autograph Collection is growing with 50 new rooms, while also expanding its capacity for events. The hotel will offer eight meeting rooms with spaces that can accommodate up to 300 people.
There are also new developments at MiM Sitges, which has embarked on a new period under the management of Meliá Hotels International and joined The Meliá Collection. The hotel is maintaining its focus on design, well-being and sustainability, now with the support of the group’s international sales and distribution network.
Hotel Calipolis is also unveiling changes. The ground floor renovation has enabled it to create a more functional, accessible, efficient environment with a new reception and improvements to the Arcos and Sert rooms, with new floors and state-of-the-art technology.
Plus, the Casa METT Sitges has opened. After a wholesale renovation of five historical villas, the boutique hotel Sunset Hotels & Resorts is offering 38 rooms, a meeting room, dining, Mediterranean gardens and well-being spaces.
Meantime, Eurostars Sitges, ME Sitges Terramar, Sunway Sitges and Finca Mas Solers have also continued to improve their facilities, services and event proposals.
In short, while the out-of-office message did its work, Sitges continued to prepare for back-to-work.
