It’s not a slogan and it may seem pretentious, but that’s the conclusion we’ve reached after analysing the data from the survey we sent to Sitges CB members with the goal of learning about trends in the local MICE sector in 2024 and the outlook for 2025.
We wanted to analyse the development of the sector in Sitges, and the results reflect outstanding growth. Turnover in the MICE sector increased by 32.94% in 2024 compared to 2023, representing 25.87% of its business volume. Venues are leading this growth, with a 39% increase in turnover, while convention centres and hotels saw a more modest, yet still notable increase of 25.88%.
Meanwhile, 596.60% of organisers are part of the domestic market, and 43.40% are international, with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Nordic countries and the United States/Canada as the key countries. The main influencers are specialised agencies and the corporate segment.
As of January, the outlook for 2025 reflects stability in convention centres and hotels (a 0.25% decrease) and slight growth in venues (a 0.50% increase).
Sitges is continuing to cement its place as a world-class MICE destination, with sustainable growth and options that adapt to a range of different needs. The outlook for 2025 is positive, cementing Sitges’ reputation and prestige as a leading, versatile MICE destination for domestic and international events.
