It dates back to 1923 and has become a worldwide motorsport benchmark. It is the fourth oldest track in the world, following those of Brooklands (1907), Indianapolis (1909) and Monza (1921). It was the first circuit to be built in Spain and the third in Europe.

Opened in 1994, its test tracks are considered by many to be the best test tracks in Europe. A 370-hectare facility created for shared use, where safety and confidentiality are their top priority.
