We are nearing the end of 2023, IBTM World will be coming soon, as well as the last legs of the working year, which leads us to reflect on all the activities we’ve conducted together with the Sitges CB’s 34 associate members, evaluate the results obtained, plan for 2024… before taking a well-deserved rest.
Between January and October of this year, here at the Sitges CB we have received 257 requests to organize events in Sitges, met with 478 professionals, networked with 880 at a large number of events and received 93 event planners.
We would also like to share the Cvent study that we have received with you, which contains some very encouraging data. According to the online event management technology provider, between January and August 2023, Sitges has positioned itself as the number four destination in the ranking of requests received on its platform, overlapping the city of Barcelona, closely followed by Rome with 21.47%, Lisbon with 27.27% and Madrid with 35.18%. Behind it are cities including Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Athens and Prague. Sitges, in terms of requests, is the third destination in Spain, only behind Madrid and Barcelona.
According to the study, the 3 markets that most frequently request Barcelona via the Cvent platform are America, the UK and Eastern Europe. Among the corporate top 10, the 8 most important companies in Pharma, 7 in Tech, 6 in Finance and 5 in Oil&Gas were highlighted. 4 of the 5 Top Travel Management Companies with divisions specializing in Meeting & Events are Cvent users; Amex, BCB, CWT and Booking Holding, as well as the leading Venue Finders, led by HelmsBriscoe and Conference Direct.
It is important to note that in comparison with 2019, there are 9% less RFP’s, but with larger requests, both in terms of number of attendees and number of nights, which translates into more revenue. Compared to 2022 the number of RFP’s is higher, but mind you, these numbers are only up to the month of August.
