Last Friday 11 July, we celebrated the closing of the twentieth anniversary of Sitges CB with a professional and institutional gathering that brought together around one hundred people linked to the MICE sector: associate members, founders and former members of the executive committee; representatives of the Catalunya Convention Bureau, the Diputació de Barcelona, the BCB and other convention bureaux in the region; and politicians, technicians and event organisers who have chosen Sitges over the years.
Under the slogan ‘The whole is much more than the sum of its parts’, the day was a chance to recognise two decades of collective efforts and to reflect together on the intangible value of events and the emotions they generate.
At the Sitges CB EMO Talks session, the speaker and motivator Jordi Nexus guided us in an emotional journey through the MICE history of Sitges. Raimond Torrents also gave a presentation on the measurable value of an emotional destination, with innovative tools for analysing ROE. Finally, Edgard Sanjuán from Emogg analysed the emotional results measured during the day.
